Mask for Kids
To develop :
•Children’s awareness of space (an individual space and a group space)
•the ability to change a direction, speed and method of movement
•a sense of rhythm; moving in time with a beat
•awareness of their own body parts and how they move
Teacher should provide:
•simple but stimulating music, or
•voice changes and narration, or
•rhythmic background using a drum or tambourine
Points to remember
The first movement sessions should be involved with the children’s own movement.
Not movement to tell a story or communicate an emotion to others,
but moving for its own sake.
