Margie Haber and Hollywood?

Over the twenty years, Margie Haber has taught many of Hollywood's rising stars and working actors. A highly respected acting coach on both coasts, she began her On-Camera Cold Reading Workshop 15 years ago, specializing in the audition process. Today, Margie's client can be seen in hit movies (Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet and Kelly Preston in Jerry Maguire), heart throbbing TV shows (Heather Locklear, Lisa Rinna and David Charvet in Melrose Place), critically acclaimed episodics (Vondie Curtis-hall in Chicago Hope), sitcoms (Tea Leoni in The Naked Thruth), cult classic (Garret Wang in Startec Tec;Voyager), soap operas (Eileen Davidson in The Young and The Restless) and much more.



Born in New York, Margie Haber received her Bachelor's degree in Speech and Drama from Ithaca College and a Master's in Speech Pathology from Brooklyn College. In 1970, she arrived in Los Angeles to embark on successful acting career. Throughout '70s and '80s, Margie guest-starred on various films and televisions series including The Mod Squad, Barnaby Jones and Emergency, and was the quintessential "Mom" in countless commercials.

From 1974 to 1982, Margie taught at The Lee Strasberg Institute, where she recognized the need and value of a good cold reading technique. She left to found the Performing Arts Corporation in 1982. Margie Haber's new facility was the first of it kinds, offering a forum for producers, directors and casting directors to share their knowledge in a professional teaching capacity.

The mid-80's found Margie in back in New York, fine-tuning her technique. As demand grew and word spread about her teaching, Margie settled on Los Angeles as a base of operations, where she is regarded as one of the top cold reading specialist in the country. Margie Haber also teaches on-going workshops in Francisco and New York, and has expanded her teaching internationally to include Canada, Germany and other European countries.
